Since almost two years now, there have been travel restrictions and bans in place, so grab your luggage and passport and go exploring! As the pandemic restrictions are easing, it's time to plan your trip. The new Museum of the Future in Dubai and the relaxed COVID-19 requirements are excellent reasons to vacation in the Middle East. However, before you book your tickets, be sure to study up on the latest UAE travel rules.
 

Rules For All The International Travellers:
 

1. The vaccination certificate containing a QR code must be presented by individuals who have been vaccinated against COVID-19. It is not necessary to present a negative RT-PCR result for COVID-19 at the airport of departure.
    
2. In the event that you have not been vaccinated, you should present a negative RT-PCR test result obtained within 48 hours of arrival, or a recovery certificate issued within 30 days of departure if you have previously been infected.

When Travelling to Dubai
 

As of 26 February 2022 all the UAE nationals, visitors, and tourists can travel to Dubai without approval from the GDRFA or the ICP. Tourists and visitors, however, must meet the visa requirements prior to travel, if they are not eligible for a visa upon arrival. To travel to Dubai, these requirements must be met:
 

• You must present a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate, demonstrating you are fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the WHO or the UAE. The certificate must have a QR code.
• You will need to present a negative COVID-19 test certificate, which should be based on a molecular diagnostic test that can qualitatively detect RNA from the SARSCOV2 virus. Certificates must be issued within 48 hours of the time of sample collection by an approved health service provider and must include a QR code.
• You must present a valid medical certificate from the appropriate authorities demonstrating recovery from the novel coronavirus COVID-19, issued one month prior to the arrival date. The certificate must have a QR code. 

When Travelling to Abu Dhabi
 

As of March 2022, a negative RT-PCR result for COVID-19 is not required if:
 

1. You have been fully vaccinated
2. You are under 16
3. You have a recovery certificate (with QR code) from COVID-19 issued within 30 days of departure.
    

A negative RT-PCR test for COVID-19 done before 48 hours of your flight to Abu Dhabi is required if:
 

• You are not fully vaccinated and do not have a COVID-19 recovery certificate.
• You are transiting through Abu Dhabi and a test is required at your final destination.

On arrival at Abu Dhabi
 

RT-PCR tests are no longer mandatory upon arrival in Abu Dhabi. One may, however, undertake the test in order to keep his/her 'Green Pass' active on the Al Hosn app in order to access public spaces in Abu Dhabi. The test costs 40 AED. Moreover, passengers do not need to be quarantined upon arrival. Most public places in Abu Dhabi require you to be fully vaccinated before entering.

When Travelling from Abu Dhabi to Dubai or other emirates
 

After arriving at Abu Dhabi International Airport, you can travel to Dubai or any other emirate in the UAE. Visas issued by other emirates in the UAE are accepted in Abu Dhabi. Dubai is accessible by any mode of transportation. There is no test or app needed to travel from Abu Dhabi to Dubai.
 

Exemptions for the COVID‑19 PCR test
 

The following people are exempt from the COVID-19 test at the departure airport but must take it upon arrival in Dubai:
 

• Any UAE national returning to Dubai from another country.
• Guests or non UAE national  accompanying a first degree UAE national family member.
• Employees accompanied by UAE national sponsors.

COVID-19 testing is not required for the following individuals:
 

• Children under 12 years old.
• People with moderate to severe disabilities.
