How to stay longer in UAE if your visa has been cancelled?

Grace period & other overstay fines for the UAE visa




There is a fixed grace period for any UAE visa holder as per the type of visa for either exiting the country after the expiration of visa or its cancellation.

 

1. For tourist & visit visa holders:

There is a grace period of almost 10 days for tourists as well as visit visa holders. If at any point of time any tourist overstays just beyond the decided grace period then he or she has to pay the fine of:

  • Dh200 for 1st day of overstay
  • Dh100 every day after it
  • Dh100 for the service fees.

 

2. In case of UAE residence visa:

There is a grace period of 30 days for UAE residence visa holders in case it has been canceled or expired in order to emend the status & to get another residence visa to leave the country. Here fine doesn’t apply to grace period. However, if you overstay after your grace period, you will be fined:

  • Dh125 for 1st day
  • Dh25 for every day after it
  • Dh50/day after 6 months of overstaying
  • Dh100/day after 1 year of overstaying

 

3. How to apply for a New UAE visa?

Under Ministerial Resolution No. 377 of 2014, holders of all types of visas can modify the status of their entry while staying in the country if they wish to.

You are requested to pay almost the Dh550 fee in order to “Change of status” of their entry for all visa types. There is no need to exit the country or exit another country as you can shift to another visa with an essential service fee.

As per your requirement, you can apply for either a short-term or long-term UAE visit visa. Here the cost can include ‘change of status’ processing fees. The fee will be lower if you have your travel scheduled or traveling to UAE from outside the country.


4. The process to apply for the short-term or long-term UAE visit visa


With the following steps, you can further apply for the UAE visit visa of either short-term for 30 days or long-term for 90 days.

  • You need to approach any travel & tourism company of UAE in terms of giving the following details any documents:
  • Copy of your passport (It has to be valid for the min six months)
  • Photographs-passport size
  • Here the cost to issue a visa can vary depends upon the emirate for which you wish to apply also the company.
  • Your application will include visa cost, health insurance (mandatory) & cost for changing the status.
  • For short-term of 30-days, it is Dh1,050
  • For the long-term of 90-day-Dh1,350
