Omicron: UAE Travel Rules
Omicron: UAE Travel Rules Since the Covid 19 outbreak, our working, learning, and interacting methods have changed as social distancing guidelines have fostered a more virtual existence, both personally and professionally. We were just recovering from lockdowns and travel restrictions when omicron, a new variant of Coronavirus, appeared. In response to the newly discovered Coronavirus variant, countries around the world have issued travel restrictions all over again. Several countries mandated booster doses, while others imposed quarantine rules. A travel ban has been placed by the UAE on travellers from seven southern African countries following the discovery of the omicron virus in South Africa. The border procedure has been revised in order to strengthen precautionary measures and ensure the Emirate maintains a low infection rate from Covid-19. Who can travel to the UAE? Travel to the UAE for citizens of any other country is only permitted if they are fully immunized with one of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines. Upon arrival at the airport, they will also undergo a rapid PCR test. In case of a positive test result, you must spend as many days in isolation as required by the emirate in which you reside. Any violation of home quarantine rules can result in a fine of AED 50,000. Travelling within the UAE Anyone entering Abu Dhabi now must complete a quick, easy EDE scan with a mobile device that can measure electromagnetic waves to detect potential Covid-19 cases. A covid-19 antigen test will be provided to you free of charge if this screening reveals a possible case of covid-19. The test result will be provided within 20 minutes. All visitors to Abu Dhabi from or within the UAE are subject to this new process. Those Abu Dhabi residents who test positive for antigens will be subject to official health isolation guidelines. PCR test exemptions COVID-19 tests are not required at the departure airport for the following people, but they must take it on arrival in Dubai: UAE nationals returning to Dubai from anywhere in the world. Visiting non-UAE nationals accompanying family members who are first-degree UAE citizens. Workers accompanied by a sponsor from the UAE. Individuals who are exempt from a COVID-19 test are: Children below 12 years of age. Moderate- to severe-disabled passengers. Advice for the travellers Before flying to or in the UAE, travellers are advised to review the COVID-19 restrictions consistently. Follow the authorities' instructions carefully.
